At Pelican Software (BC) Inc., we take privacy seriously. We provide this Online Privacy Statement to make you aware of our privacy policy and practices and what information is collected and used. In general, you can visit Pelican's site on the Web without identifying yourself or revealing any personal information. To request a demonstration copy of our products, we do require a contact name and address to deliver electronically or by other means. Once you choose to download or purchase software from us, we will maintain a customer record of your basic Organization information in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. You can be assured that it will only be used to support your relationship with Pelican Software, its agents and strategic partners.

Our web site host ISP tracks only the domains from which people visit www.pelsoft.com and analyze this data for trends and statistics. Such statistics are made available only to Pelican management and staff. Within the Pelican web site, Pelican Software or our agents and distributors register your organization name with us to generate a serial number for our software products. The types of personal information collected at these pages are name, contact organization, (and optionally email). Transaction, and credit card information are not recorded on or off line. Only a record of your product purchased and date are maintained in our CRM system.

In order to tailor our subsequent communications to you and continuously improve our products and services, we may also ask you to voluntarily provide us with a personal contact name, email address and basic PC information such as Operating System version, RAM memory, and paths to our software on your computer prior to downloading any electronic updates. Such information is used only for technical support when requested by you the customer. From time to time, we may also use your information to contact you for market research or to provide you with marketing information we think would be of particular follow up interest to our product line. At a minimum, we will always give you the option of receiving such direct marketing or market research contact.

Some of our customers are resellers themselves of our products. Contact names, address and email addresses of such resellers may become publicly available on the PelSoft site, unless a client elects to "opt-out" of such display of personal information. In cases where clients or resellers specifically voluntarily and publicly disclose personal information, testimonials, or references, or otherwise post personal information in conjunction with content subject to Pelican's products and services, such personal information necessarily will be disclosed subject to the terms of any applicable license.

Subject to the foregoing, Pelican Software may conduct surveys of other studies of its customer base and usage for marketing and planning purposes. With respect to information collected from such surveys or studies, and in the event that responses are to be publicly disclosed, users will be notified at the time they take the survey and Pelican Software will disclose only aggregate information regarding its users and not personal information identifying any specific individual. Notwithstanding the foregoing, in cases where surveys allow users to submit written comments, and where Pelican Software advises users of the possibility of such disclosure at the time they take the survey, Pelican Software reserves the right to disclose text information provided by any user through such a survey, provided that no personal information identifying that user is disclosed.

Other Notification: In order to implement or enforce the Terms of Service of the relevant Pelican Software site, Pelican Software may use personal information to contact users on an individual basis. At no time, unless such disclosure is required by law or a user specifically authorizes such disclosure, will Pelican Software disclose individual user personal information that is not publicly available to unrelated third parties.

Except as provided for above, Any personal information collected will not be disclosed to any third party, except in the case of cooperating with law enforcement agencies to aid in identifying those persons using our services for illegal activities. Information may be given even without a subpoena or court order if we believe such illegal activity is being conducted through our services.
